PARKLAND, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating after a South Florida doctor was apparently accidentally strangled by an electronic neck massager on Christmas Eve.
Kenneth Gegerson called 911 after finding his wife’s body on the bedroom floor of their Parkland home next to the neck massager.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced Michelle Ferrari-Gegerson, 37, dead at the scene.
BSO homicide detectives said they believe the massager got tangled with her necklace and quickly tightened around her neck, causing her to lose consciousness and stop breathing.
According to detectives, Ferrari-Gegerson spent the evening wrapping gifts and getting ready for work while using the massager to relieve neck pain.
Detective did not provide details about the massager.
