Senseless freaking killins man!!!!
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. – Whoever killed a young West Virginia mother and her toddler apparently spared the life of the woman’s newborn baby. The seven-week-old infant was found unharmed about 200 feet from the scene of a fire that consumed the bodies of the mother and the toddler.
The violence occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. At 4:25 a.m., firefighters were summoned to a burning building in rural Bunker Hill, West Virginia. Angela Devonshire, her two children and a male friend she had been seeing recently, had gone to that building around 9 p.m. to watch a movie. The friend is Antonio Prophet, whom family members said appeared to be a regular guy.
“He acted like a nice person who had his life together,” said Elizabeth Devonshire, Angela’s mother.
Because no bodies were initially found at the scene of the fire, the Devonshire family had some hope. Some family members began looking around the family’s land, thinking that all four people in the second story apartment that burned had possibly escaped.
At 6:10 a.m., they found Angela’s seven-week-old infant son — unharmed — lying on a patio chair on the back patio of the main family residence. The baby was apparently uninjured, however, there appeared to be blood on his shirt.
Then firefighters found Angela’s body and the remains of her three-year-old son at the fire scene. Charging documents say Angela’s throat had been cut. Police say the cause of death for her son, Andre White, cannot be determined because of extensive burns.
A two-count murder warrant has been issued for Antonio Prophet, who described himself as a “published author.” In fact, his book, “Enter The Fire: Seven Days In The Life” was self-published.
Police say Prophet was staying with a cousin in Martinsburg. That’s where he met Angela Devonshire. Investigators are uncertain where Phophet was living earlier. Some addresses list his home in D.C., others list various locations in Northern Virginia.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service had joined in the manhunt.
Elizabeth Devonshire hopes anyone who knows of the whereabouts of Antonio Prophet will call police.
“You may be saving your grandchild or your child,” explained Elizabeth. “I just want him off the street. I want him caught.”
Noting that Antonio Prophet has a long criminal history and is now facing a double-murder charge, the Sheriff’s Office in Berkeley County, West Virginia, suggests that anyone who spots Prophet call 911 to alert the nearest police department.
