NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE – A Miami-Dade police officer was shot and a woman was killed in a police involved shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade early Friday morning.
According to Miami-Dade Police Det. Javier Baez, someone called 911 around 3:30 a.m. to report a woman who was making threats to herself and others.
When officers arrived at 1015 NW 109th Street, a woman outside of the home began shooting at cops, according to Det. Baez.
Officers returned fire and she was struck and killed on the scene.
One officer was struck in the chest but he was wearing a bullet proof vest. He was taken to Memorial West Hospital in stable condition.
The name of the officer has not been released, nor has the name of the woman.
