Police say a homeless person became an unlikely hero – and victim – early this morning, confronting a man who broke into the storage shed of a Boynton Beach church and paying the price.
Willie Jamison, 23, who jail records show lives in Delray Beach, had gotten into the shed some time before 3 a.m. when he was “confronted by a residential challenged individual who objected to the church being victimized,” a Boynton Beach Police briefing log said.
Jamison then began to beat the homeless person with a metal broom handle, cutting the person’s arm, the report said.
Jamison was arrested and is expected to have a bond hearing later this morning in Palm Beach County Court in West Palm Beach.
Palm Beach County Jail records show Jamison was arrested in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, on charges that include domestic battery and check fraud.
