Which came first the Lady Gaga or the egg? Both- they came in together….She promised a surprise, and we got one: Lady Gaga arrived at the Grammys in a gigantic egg carried by four men, like an avian Cleopatra. Was she Born This Way? Ok, that’s a pun on her brand new song, which she’ll be performing tonight.
Gaga won her first Grammy on the night for Best Pop Vocal Album, for her album “The Fame Monster”
LeBron James took a moment during Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons to fire back at a heckling fan who insulted his mother.
After hearing a fan sitting near the court behind the Heat’s bench mention his mother’s name, James walked toward the scorer’s table and addressed the male fan.
“I don’t care what you say to me. I don’t give a [expletive] what you say,” James said to the fan. “But don’t be disrespectful.”
The exchange came during a break in action with 1.7 seconds left in the first quarter and was picked up by television microphones.
James responded to the fan, who shouted the comments within earshot of James’ two young sons who sat courtside near the Heat’s bench.
The fan, who declined to give his name to ESPN.com, said he was offended by James’ cursing. He was also told by security to refrain from heckling the rest of the game or he would be escorted out.
It hasn’t been a good week for Christina Aguilera.
The singer, who famously flubbed the lyrics to the National Anthem at last week’s Super Bowl, performed in a tribute to R&B legend Aretha Franklin with four other singers on Sunday. She executed the song “Ain’t No Way” without any hiccups, but when she was leaving the stage, she fell down — literally.
It’s shot from afar and a bit blurry, but it’s there, very obviously. Squint and then squirm. At least her performance was impressive.
If you don’t know their names yet, you sure will after this.
Rihanna and Drake set the Grammys ablaze — in more ways than one — with their risque performance of their hit song, “What’s My Name?” Wearing what appeared to be just a swimsuit with some fringe, and swinging her hips like lethal weapons, Rihanna made sure you’ll remember her name.
She also made another loud fashion statement during the red carpet arrivals.
The Queen of Soul will be honored with an all-star tribute at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. It is unknown of Franklin will make an appearance at the show. She has been suffering from an illness lately, but told CNN that she now feels “absolutely super.” She also was on hand Friday night when LeBron James and the Miami Heat visited the Detroit Pistons. She sat in the second row next to the Rev. Jesse Jackson and said at halftime she hopes to resume her public schedule in May — probably at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
“Probably starting at Radio City, reschedule what I had to cancel,” she said.
The Pistons game was believed to be one of Franklin’s first public appearances since undergoing surgery Dec. 2 for an undisclosed ailment. Franklin announced in November that she would be canceling all concert dates and personal appearances through May on doctors’ orders.
Neither Franklin nor her publicist have said what was ailing the 68-year-old singer, but she was in good spirits Friday.
“I’m feeling really great,” she said. “Loving the game, loving the game.”
At a break in play in the first quarter, the big screen above the court showed Franklin while a couple of her songs played over the P.A. system. She waved as the crowd cheered.
A few players visited with her and Jackson at the half.
When asked if she was at The Palace of Auburn Hills to watch James, Franklin seemed more impressed with LeBron’s teammate. Wade scored 16 points in the first half.
“I see Dwyane Wade,” she said. “He is really on tonight. Dwyane Wade is on tonight.”
Franklin is one of the most honored singers in American history, having won numerous Grammys, the National Medal of Arts and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She also has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
She followed her father’s footsteps to become a professional boxer, but last night Laila Ali showed her softer side as she took part in a charity fashion show in New York.
Muhammad Ali’s daughter, who is pregnant with her second child, stormed the catwalk in a figure-hugging dress as she joined celebrities at the Heart Truth’s Red Dress Fashion Show.
She joined Dita Von Teese, Denise Richards, Taraji P. Henson and Matthew McConaughey’s girlfriend, model Camila Alves, in helping to raise awareness for heart disease.
The 33-year-old is just a month away from giving birth to her second child, a girl, and was thrilled to be flying the flag for expectant mothers.
Before taking to the stage, in her dress by maternity fashion line, A Pea in the Pod, she said: ‘I’m looking forward to being the only pregnant girl in the fashion show with my red dress.
‘I’m gonna strut my stuff down that runway and it’s always great to be a part of something that’s for a good cause. Heart disease is the leading killer of women and I’m just happy to be a part of this event.’
Laila, who competed in Dancing with the Stars after hanging up her boxing gloves, says she has been careful not to pile on the pounds during her pregnancy.
‘There’s no extra weight gain,’ she told Access Hollywood. ‘I have to watch what I eat. I’m a big girl to begin with so I’m walking around like 205 right now. Big girl.’
Laila, who also has a son Curtis Muhammad, 2, with former NFL star Curtis Conway, says boxing champion Ali adores being a grandfather.
‘My dad has 11 grandkids and this will be his 12th – my daughter,’ she said.
‘He loves it. My son is the first grandchild that actually looks like him, so he loves it.’
