STORY:
The women of “The View” clashed repeatedly over Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell’s comments that she “dabbled into witchcraft.”
O’Donnell’s 1999 statement — which surfaced after Bill Maher dug it out of the archives of his old show, “Politically Incorrect” — provided ample fodder for Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters.
Predictably, Behar and Hasselbeck got into the biggest argument with each other. Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepard said they were unsure whether things a person allegedly did in high school should be examined so many years later.
“Do you think this is even a valid thing to look at?” Hasselbeck asked Behar.
“It shows how crazy the girl is, doesn’t it?” Behar shot back. “How many crazy people do we have to have in office?”

“Why then wasn’t Billy Boy over here so interested in where President Obama was for 20 years in Rev. Wright’s church?” she asked. “In fairness, if they’re going to dig into this then they should open that up again too.”
Behar replied that O’Donnell was too wacky for office.
“She’s a witch who doesn’t masturbate who has never had premarital sex!” she said, to audience applause. “Why is she running for office?”
Eventually, Walters cut in, saying that the witchcraft scandal “makes for juicy headlines, but it really is unimportant.” When the other hosts started arguing again, she overrode them.
“There are people listening to us that think, ‘why won’t those witches shut up?'” she joked.
