Meet The Beautiful Ava Martinez!! & Interview!

You don’t love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her..Born and raised both in the Southeastern U.S. and abroad, Ava Martinez is a petite, fiery brunette of mixed Middle Eastern and Latin ethnicity. The embodiment of the phrase, “not just another pretty face,” Ava is a graduate student with a 4.0 GPA (Master of Science). Her future plans include law school in fall of 2013, entertainment law with a dual Master’s in Music Management.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones; taking her boxer, Laila, to the beach; shopping; cooking; volunteering and travel. JAMKING: First of all Ava, Thanks for stopping by the Thejamkingshow we really appreciate you being a part of the movement! and we are definitely glad to have you on the site in such a big way!

JAMKING: First off why don’t you tell everyone where
you’re from?

Ava Martinez:  I was born and raised in the south; but I currently divide my time between Southern California, Cape Cod and Miami.

JAMKING: Well welcome to MIAMI!!

JAMKING: What is it like in the everyday shoes of  Ava Martinez you’re the hottest in the game right now?

Ava Martinez:  Thank you, that’s very sweet of you to say.  My daily life is much like everyone’s, I think – work and school.  In my free time, I like to read; shop; photograph interesting things (cars, city scenes, animals, graffiti); hang out with friends; take my dog to the beach; travel and volunteer.  I currently volunteer with 2 different animal welfare organizations.

JAMKING: what would you say is the hardest obstacle of becoming an established figure in the urban modeling business?

Ava Martinez:  Just getting your name and your image out there – I’m pretty tenacious by nature, so once I get onto something, I won’t let go.  I’m a typical stubborn Capricorn.

JAMKING: Physically or Mentally what would you say is your best personal asset?

Ava Martinez:  Hmmm. . . physically, my eyes.  Mentally, I would say my ability to be calm under pressure.

JAMKING: What Men’s magazine would you say really has the “Juice” right now

Ava Martinez:  Hmmm. . . without playing any favorites, I would say Black Men Magazine or Stunnaz.

JAMKING: How do you feel about the sudden spike of buttock enhancements over the past couple of years in the urban modeling business? We already know that Ava Martinezis 100% Garade “A” Lol

Ava Martinez:  Thank you!  You know, to paraphrase will.i.am, I got it from my mama.  With that said, if you’re a woman and you feel that something like butt implants makes you feel better about yourself – do what you need to do for you.  To me, a beautiful woman is going to be beautiful whether it’s natural or man-made.

Whether or not to modify your body, be it cosmetic surgery or tattoos is an intensely personal decision.  At the end of the day, you have to be happy with who you are, physically, mentally and spiritually.

JAMKING: Would you ever consider any type of cosmetic upgrades?

Ava Martinez :  I’m definitely not opposed if and when that time comes.

JAMKING: Obviously you put alot of work in at the gym by the looks of it. What’s your daily workout routine like?

Ava Martinez:  Thank you!  I hit the gym between 5 and 6 days a week. . . 40-45 minutes of cardio; half an hour of Pilates to strengthen and tone.  I try to eat in a fairly healthy fashion, but if I go ahead and eat something less than healthy (I am obsessed with Buffalo chicken anything), I don’t beat myself up over it.

JAMKING: How should a guy approach you if he wants to get to know you better?

Ava Martinez:  Be real.  Be down-to-earth.  Be yourself.
JAMKING: Gangsta or Gentlemen?

Ava Martinez:  Hmmm. . . how about a Gangsta that knows how to be a Gentleman?  I can’t lie – a nice, well-cut suit is sexy, and your girl likes her packages gift wrapped, lol.

JAMKING:  What’s your swagger Iphone,Android or Blackberry?

Ava Martinez:  iPhone 4S

JAMKING: Things one might find under your bed? lol

Ava Martinez:  My slippers, a copy of “Shape” magazine, and the cat.  The good stuff is in the nightstand.

JAMKING: Ohhh! my somebody please turn up the A/c It’s getting awful hot in here!!

JAMKING: If you had to live on a deserted island for a month and could only bring 4 items what would they be? And why?

Ava Martinez:  This is a toughie. . . let’s see.  Coffee – I’m a zombie without it; my iPhone (there is power on this island, right) – music, games, Instagram, FB, etc; a pillow – I’m borderline obsessive about having a firm pillow; and a good read – because you can’t swim and forage for coconuts all the time.  You’ve got to feed the mind, too.

JAMKING: If you had to choose one quality in a guy would it be brains, or money or sex? only one now

Ava Martinez:  I’m going to have to go with brains – if he’s got those, the other 2 will naturally follow.

JAMKING: New Year says Out with the old in with the new. What is it that Ava Martinez intends to get rid of and what can we look forward to from you in 2013?

Ava Martinez:  In 2013, I just hope to keep grindin’ and hustlin’.  I am scheduled to finish my Master’s in May 2013; and I plan to start law school that fall.  What am I planning to get rid of?  Anyone in my sphere that is bringing negativity around.

JAMKING: We’ve been following you on TWITTER you are quite the character Is that a good snapshop of your personality?

Ava Martinez: Lol, thank you.  I would say yes. . . I’m pretty off-the-cuff, which can be both a good and a bad thing.  I am the same person 100% of the time, whether I’m with my mom, with my friends, or on set – the major differences being the amount of clothing I have on.  J  I’m still getting the hang of the Twitter thing, embarrassingly enough.  I think I’m probably the last person in the Americas to have a Twitter account.

JAMKING: How do you shake the haters off?

Ava Martinez:  I turn the other cheek.  In the words of the poet, Jose Marti, I cultivate the same white rose for them that I do my supporters.  To cultivate thorns and nettles because of your “haters” is self-defeating.  When that happens, you also become bound up in those same thorns and nettles.  There will always be those that dislike who you are or what you’re doing for some reason.  I’m okay with that.  I don’t allow that to define how I see myself, and I don’t let it make me feel badly.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it is counter to mine.

JAMKING: What’s playing on your Ipod right now?

Ava Martinez:  T.I.; Pitbull; Jay-Z; Atmosphere; The Game; Social Distortion; System of a Down; Shakira; Bad Religion; Ice-T; Sinatra.  My tastes are pretty eclectic.  I try not to pigeon-hole myself in regards to what I listen to, because it only limits my own growth.  My first concert was Aerosmith; and the last concert I went to was 2LiveCrew, Egyptian Lover and L.A. Dream Team.

JAMKING: I know alot of men probably hit on you… what about women?
Are the ladies checking for you too.. If so how do you feel about it?

Ava Martinez:  Yes, and I’m always psyched to hear from the lovely ladies.

JAMKING: Major Turn offs?

Ava Martinez:  Mean behavior; long fingernails on men

JAMKING: Major Turn ons?

Ava Martinez:  A sense of humor; a nice smile; intelligence

JAMKING: Name 1 thing someone would be surprised to know about you?

Ava Martinez:  My childhood ambition was to be an entomologist – a zoologist that focuses exclusively on insects.

JAMKING: Favorite movie to watch on a rainy day at home?

Ava Martinez:  “The Ring.”
JAMKING: This modeling business has its high and low points. What’s the worst experience you’ve had so far in this industry?

Ava Martinez:  My experiences have been positive, by and large.  It’s interesting, and sometimes unfortunate to see how this industry can change people, though.  I had a photographer get really creepy a couple of weeks ago, so when being polite didn’t work, I left.  I figured it was the high road, as opposed to kicking him in the shin.  Much like life, though, I believe the majority of people in this industry are good people with good intentions at heart.

JAMKING: Are other models good at supporting each other in this industry or do
things tend to get a bit competitive?

Ava Martinez:  You know, the stereotype of models is that they’re catty, but most women are secure in their beauty; and almost everyone I have met has been very nice.

JAMKING: Thejamkingshow studios are in the works. Any chance we might be able to get you to do an exclusive shoot with us in the future?

Ava Martinez:  I would love to!

JAMKING: Any future videos or upcoming events to let TJKS viewers know about?

Ava Martinez:  Currently, I am a Casting Call Model on BlackMenDigital .I will be traveling quite a bit this summer, working on building my brand and shooting some new stuff for Kaos’ new ad campaign.  Keep your eyes peeled!
