It somehow seems fitting that the NFL would slap Chad Ochocinco with a $25,000 fine for, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter ironically tweets, “possessing an electronic device and posting Twitter messages during the Bengals-Eagles game” last Friday night. Schefter adds that, per league rules, “Players can’t tweet 90 minutes before kickoff and till postgame media obligations met.”
The offending tweets in question were sent at 6:50 PM and 9:53 PM during an 8:00 PM game.
I bet you don’t love it $25K worth, do you? There’s more, of course:
Oh the humanity.
I suspect Ochocinco will also be fined for using language unbecoming an NFL player before he’s eventually suspended for the 2010 season because, well, random punishments is how Roger Goodell rolls.
