A SYDNEY woman has admitted killing her 18-year-old sister in a fight over a pair of hair straighteners.
Kathleen Worrall, 20, from Strathfield in Sydney’s west, was charged with murder after her sister Susan Worrall was found dead at a Strathfield home in October last year.
Susan died after being stabbed in the neck.
Kathleen was charged over her death later that day and has been in custody ever since.
In the NSW Supreme Court today she pleaded not guilty to murder, but guilty to manslaughter.
Worrall smiled toward the public gallery and appeared nervous as she entered her plea.
The girls’ parents have previously confirmed that Kathleen was born with a hormonal condition known as congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), for which she had been medicated since birth. Her counsel, John Stratton SC, said psychiatric reports would also form part of the sentencing hearing.
Justice Rod Howie adjourned the case to March 26.
