Ms. Simmons is a newly converted vegetarian. She says her uncle, Russell Simmons, helped inspired her to make the change. In fact, she eventully hopes to become a vegan.
In a statement, she explains how Russell helped change her eating habits and how it was difficult in the beginning with her family of meat lovers.
“I eat pretty well, I’m a vegetarian. Hopefully I’ll be a vegan in a couple of years, but I’m taking it one step at a time. My uncle inspired me to become a vegetarian, a vegan, when I was young. He had me watch this video, I can’t remember the name of it, but I was only about 12 or 13 and he gave it to our family. No one else watched it except me. At that age, I tried to be a vegetarian and I couldn’t do it because I was in a family that ate so much meat. But I finally made the change and it’s been like a year and a half now and I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m feeling good and I do work out a lot”

The once Hot Bod Spice Girl says,“Being pregnant, they forgot to tell you that you can’t see your toes or your lady bits,” she remarked to Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie-O. “People forgot to tell you the gory bits. When asked if she would also be sharing her friend’s habit of naming her child something unusual, Mel admitted that some of her choices “are weird”. She already has two children named Phoenix Chi and Angel Iris.
The new bundle of joy will be Melanie and husband Stephen Belafonte’s first child, and the pop star has revealed that he is hands on with fatherhood.
“My husband likes the breast feeding part, but he’s a pervert,” she joked.

Playboy expressed interest in running naked pictures of the 32-year-old sportscaster, who was mocked by at least one NFL player and called “bootylicious” by dopehead Rush Limbaugh.
But don’t expect to see Sainz strip down anytime soon. According to a translation, Sainz tweeted, “Never!” and “No way!” in regards to the Playboy offer. Partaking in such a photo shoot would “not go with my principles,” she wrote.
Sainz is slated to take on a new job, however. She will cover the November 13 boxing match between Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao,…saving it for hustler huh???

Jenn Sterger, co-host of The Daily Line show on Versus, discussed the ongoing Ines Sainz saga with Sid Rosenberg on WQAM in Miami. Sainz, a female reporter for Azteca TV in Mexico, was allegedly harassed in the New York Jets locker room last Saturday.
Sterger said that Sainz is never appropriately dressed at sporting events and insisted that the Azteca correspondent accomplished her goal on Saturday.
“She accomplished exactly what she set out to do, are you kidding me? Exactly what she set out to do,” said Sterger.
Sterger, who was recently thrown in to her own possible NFL harassment scandal, also touched on the topic of women in a men’s locker room.
“I don’t want to go into a men’s locker room, let’s put it that way. And not for the Clinton Portis-type reasons,” she said. “I just feel like if we don’t allow men into women’s locker rooms, the same should carry over.” Portis said earlier this week that female reporters are naturally attracted to athletes in a locker room environment.
Sterger does not appear to base this opinion in fact, however, as male reporters are allowed into WNBA locker rooms.
