A judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan on Wednesday to 30 days in jail and warned the actress there would be plenty more time behind bars if she violated further court orders.
Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner imposed the complicated new sentence, telling Lohan she would have to serve more than 400 hours of community service at the county morgue, undergo counseling sessions and report to court frequently to avoid further jail time.
In all, Sautner sentenced Lohan to 300 days in jail for violating a court order, but said the actress would only serve the additional 270 days if there was another violation.
In reality, however, the initial 30-day sentence will be significantly shortened by jail overcrowding, with Lohan likely serving only about six days. The actual length of the term will be set by the Sheriff’s Department, which oversees county lockups.
The actress has until Nov. 9 to report for her jail term, and Sautner ruled she cannot serve house arrest, as she did previously this year.
The judge is keeping a short leash on Lohan, ordering her to report to court for monthly updates between December and March. She said Lohan can no longer leave the country and would have a new “no-nonsense” probation officer.
The judge said the highly-structured sentence was known in judicial circles as “putting the keys to the jail in the defendant’s hands.”
Lohan, 25, acknowledged violating her probation by being terminated from a community service assignment at a women’s shelter earlier this year and missing psychotherapy sessions that the judge previously ordered.
Wearing a polka-dotted dress, Lohan arrived at the courthouse about 10 minutes early and spoke only briefly in court, telling Sautner she understood the sentence and was OK with it.
Sautner noted that Lohan’s popularity in certain circles is low, saying another women’s shelter refused to accept her for a community service assignment because she was considered a bad example for the women.
Lohan’s previous probation officer also wanted off the case, and the new officer is under orders to immediately report any violations directly to Sautner.
It will be Lohan’s fifth jail sentence since being arrested twice for drunken driving in 2007. She last served 35 days on house arrest on a four-month jail sentence.
Sautner revoked Lohan’s probation at a hearing nearly two weeks ago.
Sautner, who is the fifth judge that Lohan has faced since her first arrest in 2007, has expressed exasperation with the actress and California’s budget-strapped jail system.
The “Mean Girls” star has been reporting to the Los Angeles morgue regularly, which Sautner ordered her to do at the last court appearance. The judge had sentenced Lohan to serve 120 hours doing janitorial work at the coroner’s office in April and expressed hope that the actress would benefit from working three times that amount of hours at a women’s shelter.
Lohan was terminated from the shelter program after failing to show up nine times at the center. She told her probation officer the assignment was not fulfilling, according to the actress’ probation report.
The actress’ morgue service has not been without drama. She was turned away the first day after showing up 40 minutes late but has shown up early several times since then. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter declined Tuesday to characterize how Lohan’s service was progressing.
The former Disney star has been sent to jail, rehab, counseling and community service numerous times since being arrested twice for drunken driving in 2007.
Her probation on that case is nearly over, but her release remains supervised after Lohan pleaded no contest in May to misdemeanor theft for taking a $2,500 necklace without permission in January.
Once a headlining actress, Lohan’s court and personal troubles have overshadowed her career for years.
Kris Humphries had a suspicion his celebrity wife Kim Kardashian could be bailing on their marriage, but has told NBA friends he was “blindsided” by Monday’s divorce filing and learned of the news through a TMZ report like the rest of the world.
Kim Kardashian has released a statement to E! News regarding her divorce.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” she said. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
The couple’s recent issues played out in the tabloid world and culminated with Kardashian filing for divorce after 72 days of marriage.
“I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce,” Humphries said in a statement later Monday.
Humphries, a free-agent forward who played for the New Jersey Nets a season ago, married Kardashian in a lavish, made-for-reality-TV wedding on Aug. 20 in California. As the Nets planned to move into a brand new Brooklyn arena for the 2012-13 season, his relationship with Kardashian appealed to the franchise’s business and marketing side.
Kardashian lent some sort of celebrity status to the franchise’s courtside seats, but that was never going to influence the Nets’ basketball officials on how they worked to re-sign him. Nets management does have interest in bringing back Humphries, but purely based on his market value for rebounding and defense.
TMZ reported that Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday morning, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
In his statement, Humphries sounded like he isn’t ready for the marriage to end.
“I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents,” he said, “and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
Comedian Rob Delaney Says He’s Suing Kim Kardashian Over Her Divorce
Rob Delaney, one of the most popular stand-up comedians on Twitter, announced in his column on VICE.com that he’s planning on suing Kim Kardashian to prevent her plan to divorce husband Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage. He also announced that he will also sue Ryan Seacrest, E! Entertainment Television and Comcast for their part in promoting what he suspects was a “sham marriage” from the beginning.
Delaney writes that he is personally offended by the extravagant build-up of the televised wedding, its massive price tag and seemingly flippant end.
He writes on VICE:
KIM KARDASHIAN, I WANT THIS FOR YOU. I don’t hate you. I hate your shows. I hate that I know who you are. But I could move to Patagonia or New Guinea and escape you if I wasn’t as willingly bound up in our terrifying modern consumer culture as you are. Whether or not he actually sues Kardashian, Delaney joins a growing number of critics who have slammed the divorce as not only insulting to gay couples who cannot get legally married, but a waste of millions of dollars during an economic recession. Delaney also took issue with Ryan Seacrest, who produces the various reality shows following the Kardashian family, specifically for a magazine cover where Seacrest claims that “The audience is really smart.”
While Delaney states that “this is not a joke,” it seems unlikely that he will actually sue the above parties. Delaney is known to write in a very tongue-in-cheek manner on his VICE column and on his Twitter. (He also recommends that the money for Kardashian’s wedding should have been given to Bernie Madoff.) Regardless, his threat to sue Kim Kardashian serves as a poignant statement about what Kardashian’s marriage and divorce says about America.

Even when you are the Commander-In-Chief, TV still does play a part in your life — specifically when you are trying to figure out what shows to let your children watch. Apparently, one show that is seemingly looked down upon by President Barack Obama for Sasha and Malia is Kim Kardashian’s hit “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
What’s the issue here? Speaking to iVillage in a new interview, here is what First Lady Michelle Obama had to say:
“Barack really thinks some of the [Kardashian shows] — when they watch that stuff — he doesn’t like that as much … but I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in — what did you learn when you watched that. And if they’re learning the right lessons, like, that was crazy, then I’m like, okay.”
The Kardashian family is known for producing a great bit of drama on their show — and while there are some family values thrown in there, there is also a certain obsession with material goods.
These are difficult times for rappers’ health. First Rick Ross suffered not one, but two seizures Friday while traveling to a concert in Memphis. Then, on Saturday, Tone Loc collapsed during a performance in Atlanta.
Loc’s manager told TheWrap that the rapper — real name, Anthony Terrell Smith — “is exhausted after performing many shows in the last few months.” After a brief hospitalization, however, the “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina” star “is fine now.”
This isn’t the first time that Smith, 45, has succumbed to tour fatigue. In 2009, the rapper collapsed during a Pensacola, Fla., performance. At the time, his manager said that flight delays and heat caused the collapse. In December 2010, Loc was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles, though the manager told TMZ that the incident was due to a seizure Smith had suffered.
Earlier this month, Smith pleaded no contest to domestic violence and weapons charges, stemming from an alleged June incident with the mother of one of his children. He received one day in county jail, three years’ probation, plus community service and anger-management classes.
The death of Steve Jobs has spawned an outpouring of grief and gratitude from his fans across the globe. From celebrities and Silicon Valley titans to everyday Mac and iPod users, people around the world are taking to the streets and the web to show how he touched and changed them.
Since the announcement of Jobs’s death from pancreatic cancer came Wednesday with a simple graceful image on the Apple Web site, people have been gathering outside Apple stores across the globe to show their gratitude and grief for one of the kings of technology.
Large crowds have been showing up at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., to remember Jobs. On the company’s campus — a miniature city of sorts where every building is Apple — a memorial has been set up, where the public has been stopping by to leave flowers and light candles.
“[Jobs is] somebody who really made a difference in the world. And we felt like we would come down here to see what was happening here,” one man who said he drove an hour to be there told ABC News.
Apple has said that it doesn’t know when or if there will be a public memorial service for Jobs.
Outside the Apple Store in New York a simple sign reading “I Love Steve” was displayed. One man started bawling, iPad in arms, when asked how he felt about Jobs’ death. And a message was written in what looks like lipstick on the window at an Apple Store in Santa Monica, Calif.: “Thank You Steve,” and a drawing of an apple.
In Tokyo, Beijing, and Seoul they loved him too. At the Ginza shopping district in Tokyo, employees of Apple’s store reportedly held a silent moment of prayer before opening to customers. A candlelight vigil planned outside the store at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Many in Asia feel that Jobs was one of the most crucial men working in the world of technology, and compare Apple to Sony at its prime.
“His ability as a CEO was unmatched. I think he had an incredible impact on leaders of Japanese corporations,” Atsushi Nemoto, a Japanese Jobs fan, said Thursday.
In China alone, more than 50 million messages have been posted on their equivalent to Twitter. It’s reported that within four hours of the announcement, nearly 35 million messages were posted on Sina Weibo and 23 million messages on Tencent QQ Weibo, China’s biggest microblogging sites.
And Jobs’ contemporaries, the fellow kings of software, also had plenty to say of the man who challenged them again and again by making gadgets, gizmos and new technology something sought after and truly cool.
“The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come,” Bill Gates said.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg had kind words for the man he called his mentor.
“Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world,” Zuckerberg said.
Celebrities from across the entertainment industry also sounded off and took to their Twitter accounts to give a nod to the man people are calling the Thomas Edison of his time.
“While others simply accepted the status quo, he saw the true potential in everything he touched,” “Star Wars” creator George Lucas said.
Actress Eva Longoria tweeted “What an inspiration he was to us all and a creative visionary for the world!,” while Ashton Kutcher wrote: “We have all surfed on the wake of Steve Jobs ship. Now we must learn to sail, but we will never forget our skipper.”

Not only did he bring the iPod into the mobile music market — essentially allowing users to keep their entire music catalogue in their pockets — but in January 2001 he helped to usher in the digitalization of music for the everyday user with iTunes.

And of course the circuits on Twitter and YouTube were overflowing overnight with tributes from around the world. From students to grown men, it seems almost everyone has something to say about Jobs.
“Just thinking about it, i even used one his quotes for my senior quote last year…innovation distinguishes a follower from a leader,” a young student said on YouTube.
And of course politicians and pundits are chiming in with praise and admiration for a true American innovator. President Obama released a statement shortly after news came of Jobs’s death.
“Steve was among the greatest of American innovators — brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it,” Obama wrote.
The Republican field also took to Twitter to express their feelings on Jobs.
“Steve jobs is an inspiration to American entrepreneurs. He will be missed,” tweeted Mitt Romney, while Herman Cain wrote, “this country is made great by those who personify the American Dream; Steve Jobs gave us new ways with which to dream.”
But the world’s emotions were perhaps best summed up in a tweet that came in the form of four simple letters: “I-Sad.”
L.A. Reid was chose by Simon Cowell as a judge on The X Factor so it’s safe to say he has an eye for talent and maybe he does. That is if you forget he ever dropped Lady Gaga from his record label.
Speaking to Access Hollywood (via StarPulse), Reid says he signed Gaga but had a bad day and fired her after listening to some of her demos which were works in progress. Lady Gaga eventually signed to another label and now she’s a big international star who wears meat dresses.
He tells Access Hollywood, “This artist came to my office… she played piano, she had on white go-go boots – like, all the way up to here, thigh high boots – she sat down at that piano, she played and she sang. Northern Ireland farmer Alan Graham says he doesn’t know who Rihanna is but she must keep her top on while performing on his land.
Graham says he enforced a dress code as he watched Rihanna shoot a video Monday in his wheat field east of Belfast for her new single, “We Found Love.” She’s in Northern Ireland this week to perform three concerts.
The 23-year-old switched from a flannel checked shirt into a stars-and-stripes bikini, a red bra, a mesh black top, and finally went topless before Graham climbed off his tractor to protest.

Kendra Wilkinson recently revealed that she and her husband Hank Baskett used to have sex in her “Dancing With The Stars” trailer on Tuesdays before the show.
“On Tuesdays before elimination, [my husband] Hank would come over to the set and bring a bottle of wine, and we would have sex in the trailer before the results show,” Wilkinson writes in her new memoir, Being Kendra: Cribs, Cocktails and Getting My Sexy Back (via Life & Style). “Whenever you saw me smiling on camera on Tuesdays, it’s because I just had sex.”
Wilkinson, ever so candid when it comes to her sex life, revealed last week that she and Baskett once got frisky on a Jet Ski.

Hinting at his recent heartache after the breakup of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez, Anthony introduced his song “Until I Met You” (“Hasta Que Te Conoci”) – about suffering in love – and called it “complicated.”
He also thanked the audience for “all your love and support, especially this year; it means a lot to me.”
Later in the evening, Anthony’s teenage daughter, Ariana (with ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado), presented him with a three-tier, black and white birthday cake, while the crowd serenaded him once again.
Said Anthony: “Who in the world could say they’re spending their birthday like this? I’m a very lucky man.”

Around midnight, the singer headed to a private birthday party – without a date – at Club 50 inside Miami’s Viceroy Hotel. Inside were about 150 close friends.
Anthony stuck around for about an hour – plenty of time to mingle with guests and cut his custom cake designed by Geof Manthorne of Baltimore’s Charm City Bakery.
When guests asked the singer what he wished as he was blowing out the candles, he replied that he “already had his wish.”
After Anthony cut his cake, he told his friends he was issuing an “executive order to stay, drink as much as you can and party all night.” But it didn’t apply to him as he had to get some rest before the rest of his weekend concerts.
“I feel like I am home,” he told his party guests, getting emotional. “Thanks for showing up. It’s mind-boggling.”
T.I. was back at a halfway house in Atlanta on Thursday after weeks of fighting with federal prison officials who were upset he traveled with a TV producer and a manager when he was released from an Arkansas prison, his attorney said.
T.I. was initially released from the Arkansas prison and sent to the halfway house on Aug. 31, a month before his sentence for probation violation was up. But a day later he was back in federal custody after corrections authorities accused him of violating prison rules by discussing business deals with the two during his 375-mile journey to Atlanta.
Attorney Steve Sadow argued that the rapper didn’t break any rules because a VH1 reality show and book deal that was announced within hours of his release had actually been finalized months earlier.
Sadow said Thursday that his client didn’t intend to violate any guidelines and that he was pleased with the outcome. The Bureau of Prisons did not comment on the move.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, initially served about seven months in prison in 2009 after he was arrested for trying to buy unregistered guns and silencers from undercover federal agents. He was on probation after he was released and ordered not to commit another crime or to illegally possess any controlled substances. He then was arrested in Los Angeles in September 2010 after authorities said he was found with four ecstasy pills.
He was sentenced to 11 months in prison for that violation and had been set for release at the end of September, but he was allowed to transfer to an Atlanta halfway house about a month early. He made the trip on a luxury bus with his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle Harris, manager Brian Sher and producer Cris Abrego, according to documents.
Sher and Abrego said in letters sent to Bureau of Prisons officials that they visited with T.I. a few times before his release and no business was conducted during the trip. T.I.’s business attorney, Jonathan Leonard, said in another letter that the TV deal was negotiated and signed in late July and processed through his office. The book deal with HarperCollins Publishers was sealed in June 2011, he said.
T.I. will now stay at the Atlanta halfway house through Sept. 29, when his prison term ends, said Sadow. After that, T.I. will be a free man, although he’ll be on federal probation for another year.
Tareq Salahi has officially filed for divorce after his wife, Michaele, left him for Journey guitarist Neal Schon on Tuesday.
In divorce papers filed Friday and published by TMZ, Salahi cites abandonment and “an adulterous relationship with one Neal Schoun,” as the cause of the split, adding, “I also understand that his rock band, Journey, paid for her travel, accommodations and other expenses.” This, despite his lawyer’s comment Tuesday that it was premature to say if the couple would split.
Salahi first reported his wife missing on Tuesday. It was later revealed that she was safe and with Schon in Memphis, Tennessee.
Salahi states in the divorce filing that “[Michaele] continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment.” Indeed, TMZ reports that Michaele had bragged to friends about her “wild sex” with Schon.
The divorce papers indicate that a prenuptial agreement exists, but does not provide details of the terms.
The couple first landed in the spotlight in 2009 after crashing a White House state dinner. Michaele was a former cast member on “Real Housewives of D.C.” before the show was canceled after one season.

While her husband says she’s missing, White House gate crasher and “Real Housewives of D.C.” cast member Michaele Salahi has reportedly been with the band Journey in Tennessee.
Although the band’s rep confirmed her whereabouts, it’s hard to believe anything concerning the Salahis, famous for crashing a White House dinner party in 2009.
The couple is well known for their attention-seeking ways. Earlier this year, Michaele was kicked off “Celebrity Rehab” after VH1 said she “did not meet such criteria” to participate on the show.
According to TMZ, Michaele and Schon have been dating for some time and she also attended Journey’s show with Foreigner on Tuesday night in Nashville.

Tareq Salahi says he last saw his wife as she was leaving to get her hair done Monday at 11 a.m, according to Michaele’s manager, Gina Rodriguez.
The allegation was first reported by the website TMZ.com.
Tareq said his wife never went to the salon and that he received a phone call from Michaele from a mysterious Oregon number Monday night saying she was going to her mom’s house nearby.
Rodriguez said Tareq described his wife’s voice as “very mechanical” and that “she sounded like she was in a tunnel.”
When Tareq phoned her mother to check on Michaele’s whereabouts, she insisted she hadn’t heard from her 45-year-old daughter.
Tareq says he believes his wife is being held against her will.
Nothing that was missing from their home that indicated she’d planned a departure, Tareq told Rodriguez.
He added when he called the Warren County Sherriff’s Department, he was told Michaele had spoken to them, insisted she was fine, and that she was dealing with “family issues.”
“He has been panicking non-stop,” Rodriguez said. “I think she was taken from the house. I know there has been a lot of bad press, but this is not a publicity stunt. We are really concerned for her safety.”
Tareq is suspicious because the family has received death threats.
“We are reaching to the public [sic] pleading desperately for your help,” Tareq said in a statement posted on TMZ.
“It is our belief as of last night, that Michaele Salahi may have been kidnapped or abducted and being held under duress and forced to tell persons, including authorities she is okay,” it continued.
“We are asking the public to please be on the look out for her, and if found please contact the authorities and please approach her and contact the authorities to intervene and that she may be forced to say she is okay, when in fact she is not and being held under possible abduction.”
Rodriguez tweeted that Michaele was last seen wearing a baby blue T-shirt dress with a silver glitter dolphin on the front and black thong sandals.
The Salahis made headlines around the world when they crashed a state dinner at the White House in 2009.

Big Will & Marc Anthony are putting all those rumors that their families are feuding to rest once and for all.
The two were spotted enjoying themselves in a private box at the Monday Night Football game between the Dolphins and the New England Patriots. It doesn’t look like there is any bad blood between the two pals, and perhaps all of the buzz surrounding their marriages was in fact just rumors.
Marc and wife, Jennifer Lopez, announced they were splitting up back in July, and it was only a few weeks later when reports surfaced saying Will’s marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith was also on the rocks. Despite the fact that Will and Jada were quick to deny the reports, it wasn’t long before the rumor mill started turning that Marc and Jada, who starred in the television series “HawthoRNe” together, may have been more than just co-stars. Those reports were also quickly denied, and now this pre-birthday celebration for Marc (he will turn 43 on Sept. 16.), attended by Will and some other celebrity pals, leads us all to believe that those rumors may have finally been put to rest.

A Santa Fe woman says the New Mexico state police officer caught on video having sex on the hood of a car propositioned her in April during her drunken-driving arrest.
Elizabeth Enriquez testified Wednesday in Santa Fe that officer Bert Lopez told her she made his car smell good. And the married woman said the officer asked if she ever thought about having someone on the side to “play with.”
Earlier this summer, a security camera taped a uniformed Lopez having sex with a woman on a car on remote county-owned property. Police officials wouldn’t say if Lopez was on duty but noted the woman wasn’t connected to any of his cases.
Lopez was fired last week after the video went viral.
He testified in the DWI case. But he wasn’t asked about the allegations and didn’t talk to reporters outside the courtroom.
The woman was acquitted of DWI.
A police officer in Santa Fe, New Mexico has been caught on security camera having sex in public with an unknown female.
The officer was in his uniform and was having sex with the female on the hood of a car in the middle of the day getting it in.
But New Mexico State Police said the officer caught on camera having sex with a woman on the hood of a car did not commit a crime.
Security camera photographs of the encounter at the remote county-owned Canyon Ranch near Santa Fe, N.M., surfaced several weeks ago. The images were initially sent to state police by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department and an internal investigation was started.
State police spokesman Tim Johnson said the investigation has been completed and the case is currently in the disciplinary process. He said investigators don’t believe any criminal acts occurred but that the officer will be held accountable for his actions.
“The New Mexico State Police is very embarrassed by this incident and will work tirelessly to restore our good name and earn the trust of the citizens back,” he said in a statement sent Thursday to The Associated Press.
“This officer made a horrible personal decision that will obviously reflect poorly on the whole organization.”
Johnson declined to release the name of the officer, but said he is an eight-year veteran of the department who’s currently on administrative leave. The Albuquerque television station also reported he was state police officer of the year in the Santa Fe district in 2010.
Johnson declined to provide any details about the officer, including his past accolades or whether he is married.
The department has also refused to release the identity of the woman in the video and details about her relationship with the officer.
While the case is a black eye for the department, Johnson said he wanted the public to remember that hundreds of state police officers go to work “every single day and make sound decisions to protect and serve their communities.”
